Course Objectives:

  • Deploy and manage Windows Server 2019 core and GUI installations.

  • Configure Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity services.

  • Implement network infrastructure services such as DHCP, DNS, and IPAM.

  • Manage file servers, storage solutions, Hyper-V virtualization, and containers.

  • Plan and deploy high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

  • Secure Windows Server and manage remote desktop and web services.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize server performance.

  • Plan and perform upgrades and migrations for server workloads.

Course Outlines:

Chapter 1: Windows Server Administration Overview

  • Overview of Windows Server 2019, Server Core, remote administration.

Chapter 2: Identity Services

  • Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, Certificate Services, deploying domain controllers.

Chapter 3: Network Infrastructure Services

  • Deploy and manage DHCP, DNS, and IPAM.

Chapter 4: File Servers and Storage Management

  • Volumes, file sharing, Storage Spaces, Data Deduplication, iSCSI, Distributed File System.

Chapter 5: Hyper-V Virtualization and Containers

  • Configure VMs, secure virtualization, implement containers, overview of Kubernetes.

Chapter 6: High Availability

  • Plan and deploy failover clusters, stretch clusters, HA solutions with Hyper-V VMs.

Chapter 7: Disaster Recovery

  • Hyper-V Replica, backup and restore infrastructure, hands-on labs.

Chapter 8: Windows Server Security

  • Privileged access protection, hardening, Just Enough Administration, SMB security, update management, LAPS.

Chapter 9: Remote Desktop Services

  • Deploy and manage session-based and virtual desktops, RemoteApp collections.

Chapter 10: Remote Access and Web Services

  • Implement VPN, NPS, Always On VPN, Web Server, and Web Application Proxy.

Chapter 11: Monitoring, Performance, and Troubleshooting

  • Use Performance Monitor, event logs, centralized logging, troubleshooting tools.

Chapter 12: Upgrade and Migration

  • AD DS migration, Storage Migration Service, Windows Server migration tools.
